Forgive the iPhone photography. This was a delicious light lunch, the rillette pie was warm and full of tender porky pork, the pastry was perfect, and the pickles were proper. As to the salad I don’t know where these peas came from but they were prefection, as was the salad… great ingredients (ricotta, peas, mint, radishes, walnuts, and mint) prepared with intelligence. Make sure to get a ginger ale, and buy some saucisson before you leave. Fantastic casual service, friendly chefs.
While the neighbourhood is mostly warehouses and wholesalers I stumbled into Rejuvenation (1100 Southeast Grand Avenue) which is well worth a visit if you’re into antique and retro-replica homewares, lighting fixtures, etc…I look forward to fitting my new cast iron claw bathtub into my carry-on luggage.
